It went on to become a massive success, seizing the zeitgeist thanks to fan-favorite Baby Yoda and earning several Emmy nominations (including Best Drama). Lucasfilm had an idea The Mandalorian was going to be a hit, as they were working on season 2 before season 1 premiered. The Mandalorian season 2 debuts on Disney+ in October, able to stay on track amidst the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
