We Reject The Disbandment Of SARS — Northern Governors Forum

The Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, has said that the northern governors are against #EndSARS.

He made this known while addressing State House correspondents after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa Abuja on Thursday, October 15,2020.

According to him, even though President Buhari has already approved the scrapping of FSARS, the northern states do not believe that the ‘baby should be thrown away with the bath water’.

He said that FSARS was not made up of bad elements alone as it also included personnel who were doing their work diligently.

The Governor said what is needed is the reformation of the unit to enable it to discharge its functions optimally.

He, however, acknowledged that there are divisions in the country concerning the continued existence of the unit.
