Chelsea Midfielder Tiémoué Bakayoko Could Be Set For A Move To French Giants PSG

Bakayoko first rose to prominence for Monaco during the 2016/17 campaign. He shone for the French club that season, as they won the Ligue 1 title and reached the Champions League semi-finals.

That summer Chelsea spent big to bring the midfielder to the Premier League. He signed a five-year contract in a deal worth around £40m.

The Frenchman’s move to Chelsea has not worked out, though. He featured in 43 games in all competitions, but he was the subject of heavy criticism from fans and pundits throughout the season.

He played 29 times in the Premier League, scoring just two goals as Chelsea finished 5th in the top flight under Antonio Conte.

Bakayoko was sent on loan to AC Milan for the 2018/19 season. The Italian giants had the option to sign him for €35 million at the end of the loan, but they decided against it after an inconsistent campaign.

The 26-year-old spent last season on loan with his old club Monaco. He made 23 appearances in all competitions for the French outfit, as they finished ninth in Ligue 1.

Monaco had the option to make the deal permanent this summer, but he remains at Chelsea for now.

The Sun reports that PSG have declared their interest in signing Bakayoko this summer. The report adds that Chelsea are looking for around £32m for the midfielder.

PSG would prefer an initial loan deal including a £4.6m fee for the season. The remaining £27.4m would then be paid subject to the clubs agreeing on a permanent deal for Bakayoko.
