Iron Man Snaps Thanos Away in Beautiful Avengers: Endgame Fan Poster

An Avengers: Endgame fan-made poster features Iron Man's (Robert Downey Jr.) snap dusting Thanos (Josh Brolin) away. Last year, Joe and Anthony Russo wrapped up the MCU's Infinity Saga with a three-hour epic that also capped off Tony Stark's journey in the franchise. In a bittersweet moment, he sacrifices himself for the greater good - wielding all the power of six Infinity Stones to defeat the Mad Titan and his minions.

Earning almost $2.8 billion dollars at the global box office, Endgame is officially the highest-grossing film of all time. The film picked up after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, which ended with Thanos handing the heroes their first-ever real defeat and snapping half of life in the universe out of existence. While its predecessor put the Mad Titan front and center, the 22nd installment of the MCU put the spotlight back on the Avengers as they find a way to return those who perished in the Decimation. That said, their mission didn't finish there because they also needed to make sure Thanos could never wreak havoc again - at least in the primary MCU timeline.

This was where Tony Stark's heroic move came in. Knowing full well that using the power of the Infinity Stones would kill him, he still did it to take down Thanos once and for all. This moment is beautifully captured in a new Avegners: Endgame fan-poster courtesy of abgarfix. Check it out below:

Tony Stark has had a string of iconic moments in the MCU thanks partly to his penchant for snarky remarks. His final come back, however, hearkens back to the first Iron Man film where he announces to the whole world that he is indeed Iron Man. Since Endgame released, set and behind-the-scenes stories have come out and one of the most popular is of how this whole scene came to be. As it turns out, Tony's final words were part of a last-minute reshoot to get the line "I am Iron Man", though Downey did take some convincing to come back and film the scene. Luckily, he came around and delivered the iconic phrase, making the whole scene so much cooler.

Admittedly, it's bittersweet to think that there won't be anymore Tony Stark or Robert Downey Jr. in the MCU. The character and the actors had been a staple in the franchise since the beginning as they were the poster figures for the film series. That said, there's a poetic justice to how Iron Man's arc ended in Avengers: Endgame. After living a life of self-indulgence, sacrificing himself and leaving his family behind to save the universe perfectly completes his arc.
